Background

As a research institute under the Medical Research Center, Seoul National University, it serves as a centripetal research institute that conducts neophysiological diseases related to electrolytes, moisture and acid-base, epidemiology and pathophysiology of kidney disease with hypertension, diabetes and glomerulonephritis, and genetic research on peritoneal dialysis, hemodialysis, and kidney disease.
For this purpose, the following objectives are established.
To establish a systematic link for renal disease-related research, laying the groundwork for joint research among the disease subfields, regions, and hospitals.
To establish the academic, research and industrial cooperative research system related to nephrology and play a central role in managing the clinical application and industrial utilization of research results.
To develop clinical guidelines and treatment methods that can be of practical help for the patients of kidney disease, and apply them in clinical practice to ultimately help patients.
To create opportunities to systematically educate and train researchers in nephrology, and strive to produce international academic papers.
To play a leading role in participating in multinational kidney disease research.
To maintain linkages with relevant national authorities leading the relevant sectors and serve as advisors to national policies in the kidney sector, ultimately helping to develop and implement national health policies.
