Institute of Reproductive Medicine and Population

The Institute of Reproductive Medicine and Population was established in 1972 with the purpose of maximizing the support and efficiency of Korean family planning and population control projects by conducting clinical and basic research on human reproduction, family planning, and family health promotion, introducing new academic information and techniques in Korea, and providing education and training for related professionals.

The institute consists of the director, steering committee, institutional bioethics committee, and four research departments of the Human Reproductive Research Division, the Genetic Research Division, and the Stem Cell Research Division. It also operates the Human Embryonic Stem Cell Bank.
